Well, what a start to the Premier League! No matter how much information we have, predicting the opening weekend of the Premier League is near impossible. Burnley beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge – never thought I would see the day. Having said that, here are my predictions for this weekend.

1. Queens Park Rangers vs Hull – (HOME WIN/DRAW)

QPR have won one, drawn one and lost one in their opening three games. I had a good feeling they’d do well this year but I am a little wary. Hull started off well this season but I have a feeling QPR will bounce back.

2. Preston vs Reading – (AWAY WIN/DRAW)

Preston have started off strong. Reading, they have had an interesting start. They won against Aston Villa so I do believe they would have gained confidence with that. Reading win for me here.

3. Fulham vs Sheffield Wednesday – (HOME WIN)

I’ve always liked Fulham and I think they will do well this season. Sheffield have not been organised this year so far and are slacking. I think Fulham will win this one with ease.

4. Aston Villa vs Norwich – (HOME WIN/DRAW)

Aston Villa are a Premier League team playing in the Championship. So why they have started so poorly I am not sure. What I do know is that they will bounce back. Could it be against Norwich? I think so.

5. Southampton vs West Ham – (AWAY WIN/DRAW) Upset

I have faith in Bilic and his great signings this summer. They will be beating themselves up all week at how badly they played against a reinvigorated Manchester United. They’ll come back stronger this weekend.

6. Liverpool vs Crystal Palace – (HOME WIN) Banker

Crystal palace were not good at all last weekend. They lost to newly promoted Huddersfield and lost badly. Liverpool had a bit of a surprise opening game too against Watford which I think will shock them into actually realising they should be playing better than they are. Liverpool to win this one.

7. Leicester vs Brighton – (HOME WIN) Banker

I like Jamie Vardy, he’s a great player with a lot of experience and I was happy to see him score last weekend. Brighton held on against Manchester City for a good while but I do not think they have got what it takes to win against Leicester this weekend.

8. Burnley vs WBA – (HOME WIN)

I am still shocked at how well Burnley played last weekend. To beat the defending champions is no easy task. To go up by 3 goals against Chelsea at Stamford bridge is even harder! They’ll be full of energy after that win and I don’t think West Brom will be able to stop them.

9. Bournemouth vs Watford – (HOME WIN/DRAW)

Watford held on for the draw against Liverpool and that was not easy. Bournemouth will be upset with losing last week to a set piece and I feel they’ll come back stronger this weekend especially in front of their own fans.

10. Sunderland vs Leeds – (HOME WIN)

Leeds have started well this season and I think they may have a chance at promotion if they are consistent. I think they will win this weekend. Sunderland on the other hand have not started off very well but I think that’s about to change. I’ll be going for the home win here.

11. Stoke vs Arsenal – (AWAY WIN) Banker

Arsenal scored early but conceded early too last weekend. They tend to let leads slip too easily. They will be upset with conceding so many goals and will want to prove they are title contenders this season. Arsenal win and a banker for me.

12. Huddersfield vs Newcastle – (AWAY WIN/DRAW)

Huddersfield played well against a slow Crystal Palace last weekend. Newcastle crumbled albeit to Tottenham who are significantly better. I think Rafa Benitez is out to prove he deserves another chance in the Premier League and will come back with a  win this weekend.

13. Tottenham vs Chelsea – (HOME WIN/DRAW)

Last year’s first place against last year’s second place and it’s only the second weekend of the season. I cannot wait to watch this game. It will be full of action and either team can take it but after last week’s loss to Burnley, I think Chelsea may slip up a little against a composed Tottenham. Tottenham to win but I’ll take the draw too just in case.
